Opening the door she tossed her keys down onto the table of her apartment right near Coney beach. Mac loved the beach and while it was a long was from Boston where she grew up, this was the place her heart told her she was needed the most. Gangs ruled the streets trying to hurt innocent people and she had spent most of her time trying to stop that. It had almost cost her her life a few times and she had the scars to prove it.

Her apartment had been three small one bedroom apartments that had been knocked onto one, the place had been perfect and she'd bought it up when he went on sale. Scattered around the living room was proof of her hobbies. The paints, canvas', camera's, film rolls, and her guitar. Her weapons were always locked away when she wasn't using them and over the years she had picked up a good collection.

Motioning for her father to sit down, Mac ordered two large loaded pizza's and a bottle of drink. Once that was all down she settled herself down, "So what do we need to talk about?"

Somethings needed to be said - RP for Kayhan and Billy

Her foot shook as she sat there, eyes darting up towards the clock on the wall. Where the hell were they? She was sure they would be back from Snake’s by now, but then she realised Kay would only just have gotten there and then there was talking time and time for them to get back. He’d been gone only minutes and yet to Mac it felt like hours since Kayhan had left to pick Billy up. She knew why she felt like this, she knew more than anything why she was so damn nervous. At that moment she had never worried so much in her life over one persons reaction to something they would be told. Her mind wandered back to the conversation she had had with Billy so long ago and it did nothing but feed her nerves.

Tick, tick, tick…

The sound from the clock seemed to echo around the silent room, louder and louder in her head. Anger pricked within her and sit took her all her strength not to throw something at the clock just to shut it up. That ticking was driving her nuts. Where were they?

Another glance at the clock, time seemed to be moving slowly, painfully slow. Each second seemed to taunt her over and over and over.

Hearing the key in the door, finally, she stood, hands wringing the edge of her top. Mac really wasn’t looking forward to this conversation; she really wasn’t looking to this at all. She didn’t want to tell Billy about the things she had discussed with Kayhan while they had been in Boston, but it needed to be said, he needed to be told!

“Hey,” slowly she knelt down before the gravestone in the cemetery back in Boston where she used to live. “I’m sorry it’s been so long since I visited last, but things have been a little hectic.” Her fingers brushed over his name, James Bailey…devoted father to a child who wasn’t his own, words she had picked herself those years ago.

“I miss you,” she whispered softly, “I miss you so much.”

Tears began to prickle at her eyes and her fingers clutched the red rose she held, “James,” she spoke with a breaking voice, “I…I’m sorry if I ever disappointed you since your death, I tried, I really did, but what he did, those things he said and how he treated me…” Her voice trailed off and she looked down for a moment, trying to even out her breath.

“I met my real grandfather and he watches over me, he takes me for hotdogs when he can and there’s a man called Snake too. The two of them helped me so much, no one has been there for me like they have been, not since you died…not till…”

She brushed tears from her cheeks and looked up and back at Kayhan, smiling at him for a moment, “James, there’s someone I want you to meet,” standing she moved back and took hold of Kay’s hand, her head resting against his shoulder. “This is Kayhan and…and we’re going to be married. We have a son too, or I do, but…no, we do.” She squeezed Kay’s hand for a moment, “He’s adopted, just like me. And I love him, we love him, we love him a lot like you love me.”

There were more tears spilling down her cheeks, “And I know you can’t really be there but…J-James I…I want you to be the one who gives me away. I’m your daughter, you little girl remember and I don’t want it to be anyone but you.”

Leaning down she placed her rose on his grave, “I love you, you gave me so much strength and I just wish you could be the one who gave me to the man I love.”

359 words

The most important people in her life were meeting up and she was scared they wouldn't get a long.

Chewing her lip she looked across at Kay before they crossed the street towards the restaurant they had arranged to meet Will at for dinner.

She let out a sigh and held up her head as she pushed the door open and held it there for Billy to walk in, a quick look around before heading inside. Maybe Will was already here.

She'd booked a table for four under her name and the waiter took them over and seated them. Now they just had to wait for Will to arrive. While they did this she handed an menu to Billy and told him to look through and see if there was anything he wanted.

Shower, clean clothes, hair up, shoes on, bike keys, house keys and a note for Kayhan to tell him what had happened and that she was going to see Billy in the home and he should come too when he got back home.

Her heart was racing the whole time, god, she couldn't believe how much, and the drive, it felt like it would take forever.

Finally she got there, annoyed with the paper work and the protocol she had to go through just to see Billy. She wanted to shout at the man who was making her sign so many things, she wanted to tell him to just shut up and let her see him.

What felt like too long after, Mac was finally allowed into the home and headed for the rec room in search of Billy.
